St. Petersburg’s white nights are the key to every successful event, especially fashion one. Closing this spring season, Igor Chapurin, one of the greatest designers of modern Russia, presented his 2018/2019 collection in the Central Exhibition Hall of the Northern Capital. All guests in total black, champagne, old friends and he, who took the first prize in the competition of young designers organised by Nina Ricci in 1992.
That is true. When I first saw the Off-White Fall 2018 fashion show I realised, I’m ready to wear each piece of the collection. It’s so juicy, feminine, comfortable and looks like a real wardrobe of a fashionista. The collection was inspired by a New York girl who does business on weekdays and rides horses, goes shopping at the end of the week. She is powerful, self-motivated, knows her strong sides and never afraid of showing her girlish blush. Not a superman in a skirt, but so alive and inspiring for others.
This year has been rich in fashion and celebrity shows, runways, collections, yet if you ask about the most sensational fashion show I still recover the only one event in my head. It’s not always about business and profit. Tribute is breathtaking, emotional and memorable. Especially in show business where true family relations could be a hard work matter.
